About
Cultural and Artistic Society Gradimir
The Cultural and Artistic Society “Gradimir” was founded in Belgrade on May 13, 1945. That is the date we still proudly celebrate. Over the past 80 years, more than 15,000 members, better known as “Gradimirci”, including many prominent and famous artists, singers, and actors, have created the most beautiful memories at our Vračar location.
We haven’t officially counted them, but it is said that, thanks to music and dance, more than 500 children have been born so far. Promoting essential human values in upcoming generations, we continue to cherish tradition, always keeping the rhythm alive.
We warmly welcome all future members of the Gradimir family!
From the Beginnings to Today
The Cultural and Artistic Society was originally named after Gradimir Mihajlović from Vladi;in Han. More than 15,000 members have participated in its activities since its founding. From day one, “Gradimir” has brought together young enthusiasts of performing arts, who, generation after generation, through dance preserve, above all, the national tradition of Serbia, as well as the tradition of the Balkan region.
Recognitions and Festivals
We nurture Serbia and Balkans’ tradition, and with their dedication, dance and song, the members of the performing folk dance and song ensemble, the children’s ensemble, the folk orchestra, the vocal group and modern dance troupe have been winning awards wherever they go. Today, numerous recognitions from national and international festivals held in Moscow, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Madrid, Dijon, Thebes, Patras, Athens, and other cities, are proudly displayed on our shelves.
